Recording the Sonata a la Arpa

In 2017, as Estonia celebrated the 100 anniversary of the Republic, I have played concerts dedicated to Estonian music and Estonian composers. I have also commissioned the piece “Sonata a la Arpa” that Lauri Jõeleht wrote to me.

The piece is using two partial capos to create new amazingly sounding landscapes, very similar to harp ones.

I performed it many times since then and it sounds very original and always lets a very deep feeling. Lauri is planning to record a CD with his works for different instruments and he selected the guitar sonata to be one of them.

It was a very intensive and inspiring night in Viimsi Saint Jacob church with my dear friends and colleagues, composer Lauri Jõeleht and sound engineer Nikita Shishkov.
