Performer and chamber musician from Tallinn, one of the leading Estonian classical guitarists of young generation.

Education

Kirill is the alumni of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Discography

In 2018 Ogorodnikov released his debut solo album "Souvenir". The year 2020 has brought another release with Duo Telluur.

Teaching

Kirill is teaching guitar at Georg Otsa music school in Tallinn, as well as at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

The Story

As a soloist Kirill Ogorodnikov has premiered works by contemporary Estonian composers, dedicated to him, such as “Twelve in Seven” by Rene Eespere and “Sonata a la Arpa” by Lauri Jõeleht. In 2018 Association of Estonian Professional Musicians organised his concerts with a complete Estonian contemporary music program, including pieces by Peeter Vähi, Tõnu Kõrvits, Robert Jürjendal and Ester Mägi.

As a chamber musician he has collaborated with the prominent Estonian artists and ensembles, such as Ensemble U:, Yxus Ensemble and singer Iris Oja. The most important performances recently were “The Seasons” and “Songs of Birth and Death” by Kuldar Sink, which are extraordinary works in the history of Estonian chamber music.

Kirill Ogorodnikov is a member of an unique chamber music ensemble Duo Telluur, featuring English Horn and classical guitar. Together with a talanted musician Heli Ernits they have performed in all the main concert halls in Estonia and toured to Germany. Upcoming are concerts in Saint Petersburg. Duo Telluur is focusing on commissioning pieces by contemporary composers and arranging for the ensemble. In 2017 Kirill Ogorodnikov premiered his arrangements of classical romances by P. Tchaikovsky with a singer Iris Oja on the Haapsalu Tchaikovsky Festival.

 

He has graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Bachelor degree, 2013) with Prof. Heiki Matlik and from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Gerhard Reichenbach (Master degree, 2015). Kirill Ogorodnikov has also studied in Master-Classes with international artists such as Roberto Aussel, Sergio Assad, Carlo Marchione, Eduardo Fernandez. He has prizes on the international classical guitar competitions (Gevelsberg International Guitar Competition 2014, and Tallinn International Guitar Competition 2010).
